Alpha's is developing and investing in new wind energy projects across Thailand. At the end of 2017 we have a portfolio of 360MW in development with land & permits secured and technical studies in the advanced stages. Our pipeline is continuously expanding as we evaluate the feasibility of several hundred megawatts of potential in the Kingdom. Contact us for further information on the portfolio.

Alpha has invested in a 45MW wind farm in the North East of Thailand. The wind farm was awarded a rolling 5 year power purchase agreement in 2014 and will start construction in 2018. Alpha is the minority partner in the project which will receive fiscal support in the form of an adder. The adder is given during the first 10 years of operation in addition to the retail rate. The combination of good wind resource, guaranteed off-take and a maturing domestic supply chain made this an obvious investment choice for Alpha.

Alpha has installed several meteorological measurement stations on the active development sites in the Kingdom including a Wind Cube LiDAR from Leosphere. Detailed understanding of the resource at our sites is essential for reducing the project uncertainty and minimizing the wind resource risk. Our towers start at 120m tall and are supported by the remote sensing LiDAR technology to measure wind speeds across the rotor plain.

Under AEDP11 more than 1,500 MW of wind energy power purchase agreements have been issued by the authorities to date. Alpha is proud to be one of the early adopters of clean and indigenous wind energy.

The AEDP15 has made provision for up to 3,000MW of wind energy to be installed in Thailand in the coming years. Alpha will be part of the industry expansion and is well positioned to grow with the industry. Alpha's pipeline of wind energy projects is ready for submission during the governments next procurement phase and will be available to roll out shortly thereafter. We continue to build upon our portfolio, adding new project all of the time. Our team of wind energy specialists include engineers, resource analysts, permitting experts, government liaisons, land and GIS specialists and investment professionals. All working together to exceed the principles for Good International Industry Practice.
